YOSEMITE & Marin Trips

IF YOU are going to Yosemite ......in early spring.
LAYERS, layers, layers and wool-warmth are the way to go, break in all new boots starting NOW. Two pair are recommended, or at least WEAR TENNIS SHOES and have the boots ready for the wet/cold.
Snow is almost guarenteed, THAT weather is what to expect and dress for.
## Key points from past trips.##
1- ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD IN CARS! (No bears on our trips, but we were told)
Bear + empty candy wrapper - 11 miles = Nearly Instant BEAR.
They WILL rip open a car like an empty soda can and the Park/Camp/school is NOT liable for damages, this WAS your warning.
Air out, vaccuum and Fabreeze your car beginning today to be safe. Eat in the cafe on the way.
2- We are guests of a camp on FEDERAL Land. Subject to the laws of the US Park Service, Break 'em and you go home, no refund, no appeal. Gravity and nature are not forgiving either.
3- "LEAVE NO TRACE" is the phrase for the week. You will need a large bandana to catch crumbs and carry your own pack. They eat group meals for lunch and each person is responsible for carrying part of the meal.
4- JOURNALS are REQUIRED for daily activities and research.
5- Meal Tickets at Crane Flat are for one sitting one serving, seconds are limited. Once we get to Curry Village, we have a limited time slot to eat at each meal, thirds are probably not even a possibility. Pretty open season on our return trip though. (Not as crowded)

IN THE TENTS- There is only ONE plug (if you are lucky) and one light bulb. All toiletries are stored in the BEAR BOXES and the cabins are LOCKED. The adult supervisor/chaperone is the one who gets the keys, NOT the children.
In Curry Village, there is a very strict policy of lights OUT and no student is allowed to go UNescorted. The reason why is that they often CAN get into more trouble than the bears!
